Abstract

Educational communities are considered as one of the main elements of the population of the megalopolis. Attention is paid to the socio-demographic characteristics of scientific and pedagogical workers and students of universities in Ekaterinburg. It is shown that the megalopolis creates a socio-cultural space for the development of educational communities and, at the same time, erects certain barriers along this path.
