Abstract

The study focucsed on understanding of mechanisms of the gradient structure formation in metastable austenitic alloys, as well as their structure, texture and mechanical properties. Cold rotary forging followed by low-temperature annealing was used to derive a gradient structure condition. According to the obtained results of mechanical testing of the gradient materials, anomalies of mechanical behavior were received that caused overcoming the trade-off between strength and ductility/impact toughness.
