
The article is devoted to the analysis of the role of the government regulation in the field of mass communications. With the rapid development of technology and the globalization of the media space, media regulation is becoming an important part of public policy. We explore key aspects of government control of the media. We focus on the balance between freedom of speech and the need to protect society from disinformation, extremist materials and other threats. The existing mechanisms of government regulation are considered both at the level of traditional media (television, radio, print media) and in the context of digital media and the Internet. In the article we analyze international practices and challenges faced by government agencies in the process of adapting legislation to the new realities of the media space.
В условиях стремительного развития технологий и глобализации медиа-пространства, регулирование средств массовой информации становится важной частью государственной политики. Основное внимание уделяется вопросам баланса между свободой слова и необходимостью защиты общества от дезинформации, механизмам государственного регулирования как на уровне традиционных СМИ, так и в контексте цифровых медиа. В статье анализируются международные практики и вызовы, с которыми сталкиваются государственные органы в процессе адаптации законодательства к новым реалиям медиа-пространства.
