Abstract

The article is devoted to the social and cultural aspects of the Opera house functioning. The author describes the specifi cs of its formation and development in the industrial city (on the example of Magnitogorsk, known as the city of “steel and music”), the author comes to the conclusion that the Opera house provides the urban culture features of uniqueness. The Opera project diversifi es the cultural life of the industrial mono-town, fi lling it with new meanings. In historical perspective, the urban chronotone is changing.

Статья посвящена социокультурным аспектам функционирования оперного театра. Описывая специфику его становления и развития в индустриальном городе (на примере Магнитогорска, известного как город «стали и музыки»), автор приходит к выводу о том, что оперный театр придает городской культуре черты уникальности. Оперный проект разнообразит культурную жизнь промышленного моногорода, наполняя ее новыми смыслами. В исторической перспективе меняется городской хронотоп.
