Abstract

The problem of the relevance of the study of structuring a polycoded text functioning in digital journalism is formulated. The aim of the study is to analyze the verbal (verbal mediatopics) and non-verbal (graphics, illustrations, visual mediatopics) components of a polycode text. The object of the study was English-language news media texts used in visual political communication; the subject was the verbal and non-verbal components of news media texts. The analysis of verbal and visual components showed the replacement of verbal by visual.
