Abstract

The paper presents an algorithm for adapting existing mathematical models for calculating the heat flux density to the walls of a copper crystallizer of a slab continuous casting machine based on experimental data obtained from the automated system of a specific unit. Statistical processing of industrial data is proposed, reflecting the influence of metal casting parameters on the temperature difference of the cooling water at the inlet and outlet of the crystallizer wall. Introduction of an adaptive coefficient into the equation for calculating the heat flux allows increasing the adequacy of existing calculation models when applied to the operation of a real crystallizer. The presented results can be useful for improving the control and management of the ingot formation process and the thermal state of the copper walls of the crystallizer.
