Urban purchasing and city logistics - Logistic innovations

Abstract

Abstract Today, it is a question of large food retailer, offering urban households logistic innovations: (1) Home Delivery; (2) OutHome Delivery. These innovations, based on proximity, are virtuous because they are more economical and more ecological. During this communication, we recall the evolution of urban households' behaviour regarding their shopping trips. We then highlight, from a series of interviews, the logistic innovations experienced by the large food retailers, and indicate whether these urban innovations are mature and whether they meet consumer expectations.
