Abstract

The purpose of the study is the political aspects of the trade unions’ activities in the field of summer recreation for schoolchildren of all ages. According to the purpose the forms and methods of the trade unions’ activities are traced, the quantitative aspect of the problem is analyzed, the phasing of the process is determined. To deepen the study, the historical-genetic, historical-system and historical-typological methods of historical research are used. The study concludes that there was a positive scale effect for the recovery process. It was proved that summer camps were a logical continuation of the ideological pressure on youth, which provided the process of ideologization the features of continuity and secured political support to the authorities in the future. It is argued that children’s summer holiday was one of the facets of the Soviet model of totalitarianism, which, among the other factors, allowed the helmsmen of the Thaw to remain in power for a long time. The development of the child health improvement system through the trade unions is considered as the development of humanist principles of the Soviet type
