Abstract

La comunidad académica internacional, en particular la encargada de los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje de las Matemáticas, viene adelantando perspectivas teóricas, metodológicas y didácticas con el fin de relegar un aprendizaje memorístico de contenidos por parte de los estudiantes, a la formación en un aprendizaje comprensivo, significativo y situado; sustentado en el desarrollo de los procesos matemáticos y en la interacción de los estudiantes y docente en dichos procesos. Parte de estos fines los asume el enfoque por Competencia; por ejemplo, el caso de la consolidación de una escuela equitativa y comprensiva que atienda a la diversidad existente en las aulas y la formación de sujetos con autonomía para desenvolverse y participar activamente en comunidad (Pérez, 2007). Su incorporación al currículo responde a las necesidades sociales existentes y, gracias a ellas, el estudiante podrá resolver y hacer frente a las exigencias que cada situación demanda.
