Abstract

The development of information and communication technologies leads to new forms of interaction, which in turn transforms the political system. Social media are becoming a powerful instrument that shapes the relations between the government and the opposition. Identifying the essential features of social media will help better understand political processes amidst increased impact of social media on the developments in the social system.
