
A description of the diagnostics and treatment options for the iron deficiency anemia has been given in this article. Iron deficiency anemia, frequently encountered in the clinical practice, is mainly caused by chronic hemorrhage and iron metabolism disorders. New diagnostic and evaluation methods for the successful management of the disease have been pointed out within known guidelines, in order to support interdisciplinary hospital and outpatient treatment of anemic patients.
U članku je opisana dijagnostika i terapija sideropenične anemije koju često susrećemo u kliničkoj praksi, u velikoj mjeri uzrokovanu kroničnim krvarenjima i poremećajima u metabolizmu željeza. Nove dijagnostičke i evaluacijske metode u otkrivanju i praćenju tijeka bolesti uključene su u znane smjernice kako bismo potpomogli interdisciplinarnu bolničku i izvanbolničku obradu bolesnika
