
Javni prijevoz je usluga prijevoza namijenjena svim građanima te je dostupna kupovinom prijevozne karte. Vozila prometuju prema voznom redu koji je dostupan putem knjižica, oglasnih ploča, interneta, info telefona, mobilnih aplikacija. Javni se prijevoz dijeli na lokalni (do cca. 50 km udaljenosti) i na daljinski. Pogodan je jer troši višestruko manje pogonske energije po prevezenom putniku te manje zagađuje okoliš, sigurniji je, zauzima mnogo manje prostora nego osobni prijevoz. Planiranje javnog prijevoza važno je za razvoj gradova i urbanih sredina. Kod planiranja važan faktor je optimalna cijena, struktura linija, subvencija od države, javni natječaj.

Public transport can be local (approx. 50 km distance) and between cities. Public transport is good because it spends lower energy per transported passenger and it is better for environment. It is more safely. The planning of public transport is important for development of cities and urban areas. The important factors are price, structure of lines, subsidies from the state, the public tender.
