Abstract

First section of the article defines the essence of language education. It covers language principles and the ethics of speech and helps to develop axiolinguistic competences of the students. Second sections shows the essence of the educative function of the grammar textbooks. This function must not be wrongly considered as indoctrination. The appropriate assignments, commentaries, texts and illustrations should persuade the students to call the values, to express opinions and to estimate verbal and not-verbal behaviours. Third sections shows the examples of the educative function in the selected textbooks.
