Loucura ensimesmada: a outra história das borboletas

Abstract

Este trabalho analisa a abordagem do tema da loucura no conto ‘Uma história de borboletas’, de Caio Fernando Abreu (1948-1996), publicado no livro Pedras de Calcutá (1975). A narrativa permite pelo menos duas leituras diferentes, que tomaremos neste recorte como caminhos ou possibilidades de discussão da experiência do delírio e do homoerotismo. O conto é uma releitura de ‘Carta a uma senhorita em Paris’, de Julio Cortázar (1914/1984), escritor argentino com quem Caio Fernando Abreu sempre dialogou. Para nos auxiliar neste percurso, usamos o conceito de loucura como uma forma de ativação de um saber oculto, recalcado e esóterico, de Michel Foucault (1993), bem como a ideia da figura de Dom Quixote como um dos mitos do individualismo moderno, proposta por Ian Watt (1996).
