= The article is devoted to the study of zooomorphism as one of the principles of F. M. Dostoevsky's onomastic code. The paper examines how the zoomorphic symbolism, affecting the appellative-onym unity, is used by F.M. Dostoevsky in the story "Uncle's Dream" to reveal the inner world of the characters, express their mental states and explain their actions. Using zoomorphic semantics, the writer creates vivid, often caricatured images, while simultaneously emphasizing the complexity of human nature.
