Abstract

= Military prose, especially devoted to the events of the Great Patriotic War, is traditionally focused on a realistic manner of portrayal, documentary and striving for historical authenticity. However, in the literature of the 21st century, there is a clear tendency towards genre mixing, the expansion of artistic boundaries and the use of elements not previously characteristic of "high" military prose. One of these elements is fantasy, the genre based on modeling a world different from reality, with the active participation of supernatural forces, mythological motifs and allegorical images. The relevance of the research is due to modern trends in the literary process related to the rethinking of genre boundaries and the active introduction of fantasy elements into traditionally realistic military prose. The purpose of the study is to identify the functional spectrum of fantasy elements in modern Belarusian and Russian prose about the Great Patriotic War using the example of the novels by A. Matvienko "The Demon against the Luftwaffe" and I. Boyashov "The White Tiger".
