Abstract

В статье раскрывается специфика художественного воплощения ценностной пары "милосердие и бессердечие" в романе афроамериканской писательницы Тони Моррисон "Жалость", обнаруживаются и анализируются примеры милосердия и бессердечия в произведении; иллюстрируется важность этих категорий для понимания картины мира, создаваемой Т. Моррисон в романе "Жалость". = The article deals with the specificity of artistic presentation of such pair of value orientations as "mercy and heartlessness" in the novel "A Mercy" written by Toni Morrison. The examples of mercy and heartless-ness in the writing are noted and analyzed. Attention is drawn to the importance of these categories with a view to understanding the picture of the world created in the novel.
