Abstract

The socio-economic development of society requires the higher education system to produce competent specialists who are ready for constant self-improvement. In this regard, the training of highly qualified teachers is of particular importance. The article substantiates the relevance of the competency-based approach in the training of teachers of mathematics and computer science and discusses the methods used in the implementation of this approach at the Department of Mathematics of VSU named after P. M. Masherov. The implementation of a competency-based approach in education will allow young specialists to quickly adapt to new conditions and better apply the acquired knowledge in practice.
