Abstract

Modern approaches are offered to vibration diagnostics of the valve mechanism of the gas distribution mechanism (RM) of the internal combustion engine. Among the deterministic methods for the diagnosis of timing is to first of all select spectral methods based on the spectral analysis of vibrograms. With this approach, it is assumed that these vibrograms are not random, and therefore, when analyzing them, either conventional spectrum analyzers or numerical methods are used to find the discrete Fourier transform from the reports of such implementations. It is proposed to use a statistical method of processing any finite number of vibrograms to achieve a given accuracy and reliability of diagnostics of the valve mechanism. In the statistical approach, all vibration diagnostics is based on an appropriately selected and deeply argued probabilistic model of vibrations. The stages of vibration diagnostics are presented, which include the establishment of diagnostic signs, the choice of diagnostic spaces, the construction of decision rules for diagnosing defects in the valve mechanism under study
