Роль интонационных характеристик речи в определении социально-этнической принадлежности говорящего

Abstract

В статье рассматривается роль интонационных характеристик звучащей речи в процессе идентификации социально-этнической принадлежности говорящего, обобщаются результаты экспериментального исследования мелодики и темпа речи носителей афроамериканского диалекта США с учетом социально-исторических условий формирования и развития данного произносительного типа английского языка.

The paper focuses on the role of prosodic features in the course of identifying the speaker's social and ethnic background. It also presents the results of some experimental studies into melodic and temporal features of the Afro-American English dialect with respect to the social and historic conditions of its formation and development.
