Abstract

Expedience of application of plain thrust bearings with stationary pads in screw and centrifugal compressors is set forth in this paper. Advantages and limitations, details and operations of sliding bearings in various conditions are shows. Test centrifugal compressor, schematic of testing assembly and methods for reading instruments indications in the oil film being investigated has been described.
