Abstract

The purpose of present study was to investigate the efficiency of diagnostic methods of acute gestational pyelonephritis and the possibility of differential distinction of serous inflammation and different purulent forms (apostematous pyelonephritis, carbuncle and its abscess formation). The study included 106 patients with purulent gestational pyelonephritis. The group for comparison consisted of 170 patients with the serous form of acute gestational pyelonephritis and of 50 healthy pregnant women. The comparison of clinico-laboratory, ultrasonic, radiological and intraoperative data allowed us to determine that the diagnosis of purulent gestational pyelonephritis was indisputable in the most part of cases (96.2%).
