Abstract

The aim of the research was to assess the effect of non-drug correction of urogenital disorders in female patients with metabolic syndrome during the menopause. The research includes 330 women aged 45-50 with metabolic syndrome. Three equal groups with 110 female patients each were formed: the main group, the first control group, and the second control group. In the main group, the non-drug treatment (diet therapy, psychotherapy, physical therapy, exercise therapy) and the vitamin-mineral treatment were combined. In the first control group, only non-drug treatment was used. In the second control group, only the vitamin-mineral treatment was used. Before the treatment and in six months after the treatment, the following was assessed: the intensity of vaginal atrophy symptoms according to the 5-point Barlow scale; Bochman vaginal health index; urinary diaries data. The results of the research showed: the average value of Bochman vaginal health index has most significantly increased in the main group (from 3,64±0,63 pointsto 4,67±0,68 points, p<0,05); the intensity of vaginal atrophy symptoms according to the Barlow scale has decreased from 2-3 points to 1-2 points in the main group, in the control groups there was no significant change; the maximum regression of symptoms of urinary disorders was recorded in the main group. Conclusions: the most effective in the treatment of vaginal atrophy symptoms and urinary disorders in women with the metabolic syndrome during the period of fading of the ovaries showed to be the complex approach
