Abstract

This paper offers a general characterization of the principal direction in which the «light / darkness» family has been considered at the end of the XX beginning of the XXI century. It is proposed that this development is seen in the direction from etymological to semantic gender, text centric and rhetorical approaches. The latter split up into rhetorical criticism and rhetorical metaphorology is paid special attention to.
