Abstract

Russian church singing art is the inalienable part of national cultural heritage. The appealing to this topic is caused by the necessity of in-depth study of the history of ancient Russian church singing for skill of distinguishing music history and liturgical singing history. In the process of recuperation and restoration of what was destroyed, the cognition of ancient Russian singing system occupies one of the key positions. The problem of ancient Russian liturgical singing represents not so much esthetic or music-study problem as the one spiritual and ethic. And it must be solved not only by the act of scientific theorizing but by moral transformation of human in whole.
