The article reveals the basic propositions of the thesis research, devoted to the analysis of the status of the Russian Orthodox church in the modern political process. The democratic changes, which took place in the 1990-s of XX c. became the reason for the change in the status of confessional relations in the structure of social and state relations, especially that concerns such a religious organization as the Russian Orthodox Church. The article analyses factors, contributing to the change in the status of Church as an certain entity in modern political processes, the key elements are singled out, which determine the political phenomenon of the given religious organization at the present time and for the future.

В статье отражаются основные положения диссертационного исследования, посвященного анализу положения Русской Православной Церкви в современном политическом процессе. Произошедшие в 90-е гг. XX в. демократические преобразования стали причиной изменений положения конфессиональных организаций в структуре общественно-государственных отношений, в большей мере это относится к такой религиозной организации как Русская Православная Церковь. В статье анализируются факторы, способствовавшие изменению статуса Церкви как субъекта современных политических процессов, выделены ключевые элементы, определяющие политическую субъектность данной религиозной организации в настоящее время и на перспективу.
