Because of the beginning of the war there was a reconstruction of small producers' artels (production groups) to perform military orders on the example of a rear republic. The most important problems that were faced by the workers are exposed, i.e. the problem of qualified personnel, shortage of the assortment of goods, reduction in the number of the ventures of the agricultural retail trade of the Consumer Cooperation in the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialistic Republic. Attention is also paid to the questions of the consumer services for the population and arrangement of the system of handicraft industry in the districts of the republic. The information from the archives that had never been published before was used in the article.

На примере тыловой республики показана перестройка работы промысловых артелей в связи с началом Отечественной войны и переходом на выполнение военных заказов. Выявлены наиболее существенные проблемы, в том числе проблема кадров, уменьшения ассортимента товаров, сокращения розничной торговой сети предприятий сельской потребкооперации, бытового обслуживания населения и организации промыслов в районах ТАССР.
