Abstract

Key principles of translation synergy are studied in the article. The importance of translation space and time categories is being specified. Synergetic effect resulted from a translator’s interpretation of spatial and temporal senses suggests the text of translation be created in harmony with interacting source and target languages and cultures. Special attention is paid to describing hierarchical relationship between different categories of a translation quality assessment which are both traditional (adequacy and equivalence) and original (harmony and disharmony). If disharmony is caused by clashing senses, then harmony results from synergetic interaction of senses. It is harmony that turns to be the criterion of a high quality translation indicating that the text of translation naturally fits into the target language culture, thus, enriching different cultural communities.
