Abstract

The article is devoted to systematization of knowledge of Robert Burns' poetical works translations into the Russian language, which were made in the 20ies-30ies of the 19th century. General laws of forming the interest of the Russian society to separate writings of the Scottish poet are determined. For the first time the authors suggest the division of Robert Burns' Russian translations into periods, which has permitted to determine the most significant stages of the Scottish bard's heritage advancement in Russia. Succession of the latest translations with respect to the earliest translations of Robert Burns' works, made by I.I. Kozlov, M.Y. Lermontov and others, is shown in the article.
