Abstract

From the perspective of the cognitive approach the article describes the mental construction of meaning prompted by the non-conventional use of the genitive case in poems by the contemporary Russian poet Alexander Skidan. The fact, that the author foregrounds the categorical polysemy of the Russian genitive case, affects the dynamic process of the reader’s meaning construction. The article analyzes the role of the modified genitive case as a mental space builder and as a meaningful relationship in an interdimensional interaction in the course of conceptual integration.
