Abstract

This article describes the use of special lexis in anglers’ professional discourse. Quantitative estimation of nominations identifying fish, fishing tackle and fishermen (anglers) is made to specify the relevance of denotative areas for angler’s linguistic identity and dissemination of relevant lexemes in professional discourse. The article determines the total number of appellations of the analyzed words, the ratings of nominative density, and their frequency. It also characterizes the analyzed substantives according to their semantic, word-formative structure and derivative activity. The functioning regularities of subject, object, and fishing tools nomination in the forum format are presented.
