Abstract

The authors have given a summary of views of three exponents of utopian socialism: C. H. Saint-Simon, Ch. Fourier and R. Owen on the historical development process and the idea of social progress. They did substantiate that this idea was formulated most consistently and fully in socio-philosophical conceptions of the utopian socialists, in the first place Saint-Simon and Fourier. Each of these concepts represents basic element of socialist utopianism, creating the necessary philosophical basis for the criticism of the bourgeois system of civilization and building utopian projects of the future organization of society.
