Abstract

The main risk factors for the development of retinal vein thrombosis in young and middle age patients are different types of congenital and acquired forms of thrombophilia. In cases of an ischemic thrombosis, it is necessary to estimate the blood serum homocystein level. Hyperhomocysteinemia is an independent risk factor for the development of acute vascular eye pathology.
