Work is presented by chair of sociology of «St.-Petersburg state engineering-economic university». Professor Svjatoslav Brazevich is the scientific adviserthe doctor of sociological sciences. In article sources, stages of formation and recent trends in development concerning new area of sociology-sociology of health are considered. It is underlined the importance of the interdisciplinary approach to consideration of problems of public health services, importance of a sociological sight at a problem is underlined during struggle against the main illnesses of the newest time.

В статье рассмотрены истоки, этапы становления и последние тенденции в развитии относительно новой области социологии - социологии здоровья. Указывается на значимость междисциплинарного подхода к рассмотрению проблем здравоохранения, подчеркивается важность социологического взгляда на проблему в ходе борьбы с главными недугами новейшего времени.
