Abstract

Patients with COPD have heterogeneous disease course and treatment response. SUPPORT study was aimed to assess the prevalence of COPD phenotypes in Russia and their treatment. The study included 1111 patients with previously diagnosed COPD. The article includes data on prevalence, characteristics, and treatment of 4 COPD phenotypes: without frequent exacerbations; with asthma; with frequent exacerbations and chronic bronchitis; with frequent exacerbations without chronic bronchitis. The most frequent phenotypes include COPD with frequent exacerbations with or without chronic bronchitis. All patients frequently received therapy that did not correspond to national and international guidelines.
