Mixed doubles»

Mixed doubles»

Abstract

The significant change of «mixed-doubles» discipline status demanded more systematization of mixed-doubles training process, determination of game model characteristics of curlers especially in mixed-doubles and determination of the differences in comparison with “classic” curling in competitive activity for solving the main tasks. Competitive activity accent in mixed-double directed to «slow» shots, most of them are “around the guard” shots, that is along the trajectory of sports implement there is an obstacle in form of the stone. As there is less opportunities to change the parameters of stone moving by swiping in mixed-doubles comparing with the classical, there are strong requirements to the accuracy of the exit to the distant landmark and to making the stone rotation and speeding up at throwing. In training process of the mixed-doubles athletes, it is necessary to improve more difficult variants of hits and draw shots, especially for the players making first and last shots.
