Abstract

Города являются ядром современной цивилизации, средоточием огромного экономического потенциала, производителями значительной доли национального богатства, они также выступают в жизни общества как многоплановый социальный организм, сложный экономико-географический, архитектурный и инженерно-строительный, а также культурный комплекс. Но, в то же время, именно в крупных мегаполисах возникли и существуют такие специфические проблемы, как перенаселенность, чрезмерное территориальное разрастание, транспортные проблемы, экологические проблемы, проблемы воспроизводства городской инфраструктуры, др. Решать эти задачи местным властям приходится на фоне общенациональных кризисных явлений — экономических, социальных, экологических [2].
