This article describes the life and activities of the honoured doctor of Belarus E.N. Selitskaya (1923-2015). After graduating from Minsk Medical Institute in 1949, she devoted 46 years to health protection in Grodno region. At the beginning of her career she worked as a chief health-officer and sanitarian in Skidel and Mosty districts. In 1955 she was referred to Grodno, where she was appointed chief doctor of the city sanitary and epidemiological station. In the following 30 years there was a considerable improvement in the sanitary and epidemiological conditions of the city, the morbidity rate of its inhabitants was reduced. The accumulated advanced experience was also implemented in other regions of the Republic. In 1957-1984 she was regularly elected deputy of the Grodno City Council, for many years she headed Committees on Environmental Protection and Communal Services. All this allowed her to recruit other establishments for the improvement of living conditions and health of population.

В этой статье освещается жизнь и деятельность заслуженного врача Беларуси Е.Н. Селицкой (1923-2015). Окончив в 1949 г. Минский мединститут, она посвятила 46 лет здравоохранению Гродненской области. Вначале в Скидельском и Мостовском районах исполняла должности главного санитарного инспектора и санитарного врача. В Мостах один год руководила райздравотделом. В 1955 г. была переведена в Гродно, где назначена главным врачом городской санэпидстанции. В следующие 30 лет интенсивно улучшено санитарно-эпидемиологическое состояние города и снижена заболеваемость населения. Накопленный передовой опыт работы также внедрялся в другие области республики. В 1957-1984 гг. она регулярно избиралась депутатом Гродненского горсовета, многие годы возглавляла комиссии по коммунальному хозяйству и охране природы. Это позволяло ей привлекать и другие учреждения для улучшения условий жизни и здоровья населения.
