The article focuses on the publication history of L. N. Gumilev's monograph, which covers the theme of passionary theory of ethnogenesis. L. N. Gumilev has made several attempts to publish his research in 1970s 80s, that summarized his studies on this subject. He managed to do that only in 1989. Basing on museum-flat of L. N. Gumilev archive materials, this article shows in detail the difficulties and the obstacles that L. N. Gumilev faced during his numerous attempts to publish the monography "Ethnogenesis and the Biosphere".

Статья посвящена истории издания монографии Л. Н. Гумилева о пассионарной теории этногенеза. Ученый в течение 1970-х — 1980-х гг. несколько раз пытался издать работу, обобщающую его представления по данному вопросу, но смог это сделать только в 1989 г. В статье на основе материалов музея-квартиры Л. Н. Гумилева прослежены основные проблемы, возникавшие в процессе издания, история публикации монографии «Этногенез и биосфера Земли».
