Смысловая структура сложных прилагательных в языке художественной прозы В. В. Вересаева

Abstract

The article analyzes the semantic structure of compound adjectives and their aesthetic meaning in the fictional prose of V.V.Veresaev. The article identifies the most frequent lexico-semantic groups of compound adjectives found in the writer’s works. These groups are analyzed in close connection with the idea and the problems raised in the works. Special attention is given to the syntagmatic connections of compound adjectives with the nouns they define. These connections reveal and broaden the semantic potential of the adjectives. The article explores the nature of the semantic relations between parts of compound words and identifies new words created by the author which leads to the conclusion about the writer’s special idiostyle.
