Abstract

The authors study the stability of clay suspensions from Slyudyansky deposit and its dependence on the addition of electrolytes sodium sulfates, magnesium and aluminum. A quantitative evaluation of electrolyte influence on the sedimentation stability is given. The threshold values of electrolyte coagulation are determined. Experimental results and their discussion from the viewpoint of the processes on the surface of a solid phase, and taking into account a double electric layer are reported.
