Abstract

In the article the attempt to show the dynamics of such concepts as nation, nationalism, empire in the history of Russia is undertaken. The author emphasizes, that the process of nation construction was not completed at the beginning of the XX century. With the establishment of new regime in 1917 in the country, the policy of positive discrimination in respect of non-Russian peoples, which actually assumed the underrating of the needs of Russian people, was conducted. In the present stage the author proposes to carry out neutral policy to the rallying of contemporary Russian nation on the basis of all peoples in RF.
