The linear-correlation model of water balance is considered in the article. It helps to estimate accurately and analyze such water balance elements as infiltration, three types of absorption into the soil on different phases of the runoff formation, the layer of the surface water retention in the catchment area, soil humidity, water reserves in the soil. Such a range of the parameters of water balance makes it possible to solve a number of practical problems. Currently there are no other methods of analytical assessment of the stated parameters.
