В статье раскрываются основные этапы формирования и развития системы комплектования русской армии младшим командным составом. Анализируются особенности подготовки унтер-офицеров на протяжении XIX начала XX вв., выдвигаются предложения, направленные на укрепление института сержантов Вооруженных сил России.The article contains the description of basic stages of forming and development of the Russian army manning with noncommissioned officers. The peculiarities of the noncommissioned officers training in the 19th early 20th centuries are analyzed. The suggestions on resolving the problem of strengthening of noncommissioned officers' institution in the Russian Armed Forces are formulated in the article.
