The paper considers the problem of reducing the flow of migration within the boundaries of the urban area in the conditions of intensive expansion of megacities. One of the ways of solving this problem is a shift in urban planning from mono-centric to polycentric scheme of the urban area organization. The authors substantiate that the creation of a megacity within the boundaries of several centers, with a full set of city life, accommodation, public services, work, social activities, will significantly change the technology of municipal economy, reduce passenger traffic, and increase the level of comfort for the population.
