Abstract

In this paper the analysis of the intensity of traffic accidents on a regulated intersection in the city of Volgograd. Presents the author’s research methodology rationale methods. The choice of control factors on the basis of traffic statistics, and expert opinion. It is established the distribution significance of the most important for traffic safety factors, based on the method of rank correlation (method of expert evaluations). The interrelated factors or factors, which are weakly related with the target function, are excluded from consideration. Fixed possible errors modeling related to the dimension of factors. This was achieved through normalization factors and the objective function. Are presented a generalization and mathematical processing of the results of our observations. It is substantiated that the traffic safety on the roads of Russia, mainly reflects the improper behavior of the main actors. Provides practical advice on the application of methods of mathematical statistics for selection of control factors, build regression models and forecasting of road safety.
