Abstract

Th e article off ers a comparative study of parent images of adult heroin and alcohol-addicted patients based on the semantic diff erential technique. Th e following data were analyzed: real and ideal images of the patients Ego and of his/her mother and father. Th e fi ndings indicate that chemical addicted patients have a strongly negative image of real parents which is signifi cantly diff erent from the image of ideal parents. Some positive correlations between the rating of real or ideal parents on the one hand and self-rating on all parameters on the other hand have been detected. Th e data received substantiate the importance of taking into account the parent images of chemical addicted patients for their rehabilitation.
