Abstract

The article describes the main features of agonistic discourse politics of memory as an example of modern attempts to revise Soviet history, events, and outcomes of World War II, carried out by Western, European and Ukrainian ideology. As the tools of modern politics of memory authors consider such techniques and technology as an identification of the Soviet and the Nazi regime by bringing them under the generic term «totalitarianism», the creation of the concept of a double occupation and a double victim, designing «twins», the sacralization of national suffering, «forgetfulness» of responsibility European countries and the United States for promoting Nazism and others. The authors draw attention to the responsibility of the Russian elite for discrediting the Soviet history, with the creation of a favorable atmosphere for a radical ideological offensive of neoliberal discourse of the politics of memory.
