The article is based on memoirs of contemporaries, analyses of mental and moral atmosphere of Russian society, personalities and events of the Patriotic war of 1812, their historic significance. The main attention is drawn to the consolidation of Russian society before the threat created by Napoleon''s invasion. The article shows the attitude of society to the nobility, to the speech of citizens on French language, as well as humane treatment of prisoners of war. The story of the restoration and strengthening the old Russian tradition of the people's irregular troops is revealed. Analyzing the human factor of the Patriotic war, the author dwells especially on high role of Emperor Alexander I and several other heroes of these events. It is proposed to perpetuate the memory of Alexander I in Ufa, which he visited in 1824. Active participation of the regions and nations of the country is stated, brave deeds of Bashkir warriors who fought in all the main battles and the capture of Paris are pointed out. The author notes the admiration characteristic of Bashkir soldiers by the words of their contemporaries. The conclusions about deep ideological consequences and moral lessons of national heroic feat in the history of great Russia were made.

В статье на основе преимущественно мемуарных источников осмысливаются духовно-нравственная атмосфера российского общества, персоналии и события Отечественной войны 1812 года, их историческое значение. Главное внимание обращается на консолидацию российского общества перед угрозой, созданной наполеоновским вторжением. Анализируя человеческий фактор Отечественной войны, автор останавливается на высокой роли императора Александра I, ряда других героев этих событий. Констатируется активное участие регионов и народов страны, выделены подвиги башкирских воинов. Сделаны выводы о глубоких идейных последствиях и духовно-нравственных уроках народного подвига в истории великой России.
