Abstract

In this paper, was proposed technology for the production of leather from the skins of salmon with using nonequilibrium low-temperature plasma, allowing to improve the strength of the skin by 29 % and total porosity of 3.3 %.Furthermore, there is a reduction in the duration of the soaking process 2 times. It is found that is the greater separation occurs after the pickling process, in a prototype, sealing temperature is reduced by 12 % more than the control sample. Along with this, the sample semi-finished product from the skins of salmon, modified by the plasma, after the tanning process the welding temperature is higher by 5.5 % than the control sample, thereby increasing the strength characteristics of the skin. The pore volume of the modified sample of the leather from the skins of salmon by 38 % more than control sample, indicating its good air permeability. Apparent modulus of elasticity of the skin is characterized not only by hardness, but the ductility and thickness, this indicator of the modified sample is higher by 46 %, when compared with the control sample, indicating a significant elasticity of prototypes. Thus, the proposed technology allows to produce leather from the skins of salmon with improved strength and hygiene performance.
